As a Senior Cloud System Engineer you will be defining the architecture of new services, implementing them and improving already running services in the Group IT department that operates in the cloud (Azure). 

You will shape the roadmap, be a reference for others in the department and help achieving a great customer experience for our internal colleagues in the company. 

Your Profile

Are you an analytical problem solver who is motivated by learning new technologies? Can you build relationships with ease, influence stakeholders, set up guidelines and train others? 

If this sounds like you, look at the role requirements below; 

• IT or engineering related studies or apprenticeship with expertise in System Engineering.  

• 5+ years' experience in a similar role with knowledge and expertise with all system engineering basics (network, server, database, storage, backup, monitoring… 

• 2+ years professional experience in building and maintaining Kubernetes clusters, preferably in Azure (CKA certification or similar knowledge) as well as moving infrastructure to Infrastructure as Code technologies, preferably Terraform and Ansible. 

• Programming skills, preferably Python, Powershell and GO. Always keeping automation in mind. 

• Knowledge of Azure Active Directory. 

• You might not know all technologies, but you bring the willingness to learn them. 

• English fluency is essential, German and/or Spanish is a plus.  

Your Challenge

• Month 1 – You will familiarize yourself with the equipment, code, tools, and group organization. Get to know the roadmap and first contact with the Kubernetes clusters and the infrastructure based on IaC. 

• Month 3 – You will have integrated in the team and organization and be providing internal support. You will have full control on the AKS clusters and their operators, have migrated further services to IaC and have written and deployed code for automations. 

• Month 6 – You will be fully involved in technical and organizational decision making, process improvement and technical debt solutions. Be able to guide the rest of the team in the different technologies, especially AKS, IaC and coding.
